Prof Dr Daniel Blackman (MBChB, MD, MRCP) is a Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Leeds and a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He is a world-renowned expert in transcatheter valve interventions, having established the TAVI program in Leeds and developed it into an international centre of excellence. Prof Dr Blackman currently serves as the Chair of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS) Structural Heart Group and was previously the Honorary Secretary of BCIS (2016–2020). With over 140 scientific publications, his research focuses on novel devices for mitral and tricuspid valve repair, and he frequently proctors specialists globally in advanced structural heart techniques.
