Advancing Image Guided Therapies with 3D ICE - Next Era of Structural Heart Imaging
-
Part 1 Welcome and Introduction
This webinar brought together two multidisciplinary hospital teams, each consisting of an interventional cardiologist and an echocardiographer, to share their first-year clinical experience with intracardiac imaging in structural heart interventions.
Focusing on tricuspid and left atrial appendage (LAA) procedures, the faculty led by Ole De Backer and joined by Niels Vejlstrup, Pieter Vriesendorp and Sebastian Streukens presented real-world cases and discussed procedural workflows, highlighting the role of advanced 3D ICE imaging in procedural guidance and clinical decision-making.
The session provided practical insights into the integration of intracardiac imaging into routine practice, including key learnings, challenges and perspectives from both operators and imaging specialists.
Key Learning Objectives
- Understand the role of intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) in guiding structural heart interventions, with a focus on tricuspid and LAA procedures
- Understand how multidisciplinary collaboration between interventional cardiologists and echocardiographers supports procedural planning and execution
- Identify practical considerations for integrating 3D ICE into clinical workflows based on real-world experience
- Recognise the benefits and limitations of 3D ICE imaging across different procedural settings
- Apply case-based insights to optimise imaging strategies and improve procedural outcomes in clinical practice
Target Audience
- Interventional Cardiologists
- Structural Heart Specialist
- Imaging Cardiologists
- Echocardiographer
- Cardiac Sonographers Involved in Tricuspid and Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Interventions
- Electrophysiologists
- Cardiac Surgeons
- Healthcare Professionals Engaged in Advanced Intracardiac Imaging and Procedural Guidance
