In this special conversation from Nail It with Nadira – The Radcliffe Edition, Brad Wilson speaks with interventional echocardiographer Dr Nadira Hamid about the origins, goals and future direction of this educational series. Dr Hamid describes how Nail It with Nadira began as a case-based US initiative for interventional echocardiographers and has now expanded with Radcliffe, bringing in perspectives from Europe, Asia and India while keeping a strong focus on real-world structural heart imaging challenges.
Together, they explore why echocardiography and multimodality imaging are central to structural interventions—from the initial diagnosis of MR and TR, through anatomic assessment and procedural guidance, to long‑term follow-up and durability evaluation. They also discuss the increasing use of ICE alongside TOE, the impact of imaging on workflow in the cath lab, and the evolving, central role of the interventional echocardiographer within the heart team.
